3D Printer – Polyjet (QTY = 2)

Short Description: Additive manufacturing system which deposits photo-curing resin (via jetting-heads) in layers (from the bottom up) until final part geometry is achieved.  Parts can be taken directly from printer, to end use applications and prototyping.

Materials: Acrylate-Based photo-polymers. Material varies from rigid to flexible, opaque to translucent/clear.

Mechanical properties:  Very rigid, but moderately low yield stress at thin dimensions.

Accuracy: Extremely high precision – 16 micron layers permit feature accuracy of ~0.05mm (dependent on surrounding geometry and print orientation)

Maximum Part Size: 260x260x200mm

3D-Printer FDM (QTY = 3)


Short Description:
Additive manufacturing system which deposits melted PLA, or ABS filament in layers (in tracing pattern, from the bottom up) until final part geometry is achieved.  Parts can be taken directly from printer, to end use applications and prototyping.

Materials: PLA, or ABS plastic filament.

Mechanical properties: Very good rigidity, and good impact strength.

Accuracy: Good precision – 100 micron layers (minimum) permit feature accuracy of ~0.1mm (dependent on surrounding geometry and print orientation)

Maximum Part Size: Dependent upon Printer.

3D-Printer SLA


Short Description:
Additive manufacturing system which solidifies a UV curing resin via laser light to build a part up from its base.

Materials: UV Curing Methacrylate Photopolymer

Mechanical properties:  Good rigidity, and impact strength.

Accuracy: Good precision – 25 micron layers (minimum) permit feature accuracy of ~0.15mm (dependent on surrounding geometry, and orientation)

Maximum Part Size: 125x125x165 mm

PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Mill

Short Description: An automated micro-mill based cutting system which is capable manufacturing dual-layer boards in copper-clad FR4, and other circuit board materials. Additional capabilities include conductive vias, solder masks, and silkscreens.

Materials: FR4, FR5, copper-clad polyamide, etc.

Accuracy: 0.02 mil (0.5 micron) Resolution, +/-0.04 mil (+/-0.001mm) Repeatability)

Max Material Size: 9”X12” (229 x 305 mm)

3D Scanner

Short Description: Takes physical objects, and scans them into digital models utilizing multiple cameras, and laser beams. Has an optional motorized stage that automates multiple scans. Objects can be small or large in size.

Accuracy: 0.1 mm claimed accuracy.

Features: Allows physical objects to be converted into a point-meshes (.STL), or solid models with included software. Solid models can then be imported into CAD system where they can be utilized in the design of secondary systems with geometry dependent on the physical objet (see example below).

Kern Micro 24 150W CO2 Laser

Short Description: A laser based cutting system which is capable of high precision cuts in plastics, and thin metals. This system is also capable of 3D engraving in thick plastics, wood, and foam.

Materials: (Sheet stock) Acrylic, Polycarbonate, ABS, and most other plastics up to 1.5” thick, foam, wood, cork, rubber, thin sheet metal.

Accuracy: Extremely high – ~0.005 mm cutting width (material and setting dependent), 600 DPI 3D engraving

Short Description: Performs machining operations by rotating round work-pieces, and feeding a static cutter into parts.
