The Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis invites applications for a faculty position. Candidates at the Assistant Professor level are preferred, although outstanding candidates at the Associate Professor level will also be considered. The BME Department has 31 faculty members and is ranked 7th in the nation in annual research expenditures (NSF rankings).
While all areas of expertise will be considered, candidates with a background in biomedical frontiers like immune engineering, protein engineering, or experimental systems biology are especially encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates whose research emphasis demonstrates the potential to complement and advance the Department’s existing research strengths (e.g., in cell and molecular biophysics of the immune system, synthetic biology, multiscale systems biology, imaging/optics, the development of quantitative biology tools, and the translation of engineering advances in medicine).
Interested candidates should submit all materials via the web-based online submission system (https://recruit.ucdavis.edu/apply/JPF00031). Required materials include a curriculum vitae, brief statements of research and teaching plans, and names and contact information for at least five evaluators who have agreed to write letters of reference. Inquiries can be directed to the chair of the search committee at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for full consideration is November 30, 2012 although applications will be accepted until the position is filled. UC Davis is an affirmative action/equal employment opportunity employer and is dedicated to recruiting a diverse faculty community. We welcome all qualified applicants to apply, including women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
