Position: A postdoctoral position is available in the Cherry laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis (http://bme.ucdavis.edu/cherrylab/). We are looking for highly motivated individuals with an interest in nuclear imaging and radiotherapy (radionuclide therapy in particular). Applicants should have a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or image/signal processing. Expertise in nuclear imaging, image reconstruction, Monte Carlo simulation, and high proficiency in computer programming is preferred. The successful applicant will work with the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Radiology, and the School of Veterinary Medicine to develop image-based dosimetry for internal radiation therapy. Specifically, the project aims at developing novel methods to improve the treatment of liver cancer through radioembolization, a procedure performed in the division of Interventional Radiology. Excellent communication skills to interact with physicians at the UC Davis Medical Center are required.
