Position in Nuclear Medical Imaging Technology and Simulation
Position: A position is available in the Cherry laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis (http://bme.ucdavis.edu/cherrylab/). We are looking for highly motivated individuals with an interest in nuclear medicine imaging detector development and simulation. Applicants should have a degree in or related to biomedical engineering, medical imaging, or image / signal processing. Expertise in nuclear imaging, Monte Carlo simulation, and high proficiency in computer programming is preferred. The successful applicant will develop new algorithms for optical Monte Carlo simulation and will collaborate with scientists in our group to apply these developments to novel fast detectors for positron emission tomography. This project is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and aims at pursuing the development of Monte Carlo tools for nuclear medicine.
