Admissions Criteria

You must meet university requirements, College of Engineering requirements and Department of Biomedical Engineering requirements, as stated in the articulation agreement with your community college. Visit Assist.org for more information.

In order to transfer to an engineering major at UC Davis, you must have:

  • At least 90 transferable quarter units (or 60 semester units).

  • All courses taken for a letter grade with no grade lower than a C.

  • Overall GPA of 3.10 or higher or tech GPA of 3.20 or higher.

  • Specific requirements of the major you are transferring into.

Admission will be denied if you are missing three or more required lower division courses.

 

Transfer Admission Priority

Priority in transfer admissions is given to students who fulfill certain criteria. They are listed here:

Highest Priority

California community college applicants who have completed two transferable English composition courses and all the required lower division engineering coursework offered at the community college they attended.

Lower Priority

California community college applicants who are missing one or two of the required lower division engineering courses. 

Lowest Priority

Junior level transfers from other UC campuses and other four-year institutions in and out of state who have completed all of the required lower division engineering courses.
