As a UC Davis graduate student, you have access to many resources and programs to help with any challenges that may arise or questions you have. In addition to the resources listed below, Graduate Studies has a comprehensive list of resources for academic success, funding, health and well-being, professional development, and more.

  • Biomedical Engineering Student Association (BESA)- BESA represents the BME graduate students at UC Davis. The vision of BESA is to serve as a society of professionals devoted to developing and using engineering and technology to advance human health and well-being.
  • Graduate Studies- Graduate Studies serves the graduate student community by operating as a central hub to support graduate students. They provide academic, financial, personal, and professional support services that support the success and well-being of UC Davis graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The best way to connect with Graduate Students is to reach out to a Senior Academic Advisor.
  • Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS)- SHCS have physical health; mental well-being; nutrition and food; alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; and sexual well-being resources.
  • Office of Student Support and Judicial Affairs (OSSJA)- OSSJA assists students in need, promotes student development, and upholds academic integrity by serving as case managers for students of concern, offers inform resolutions for student grievances, and utilizing their student conduct specialists.
  • Student Disability Center (SDC)- The SDC approves services and coordinates accommodations for students to establish equal access to the University’s educational programs. If you need accommodations, the sooner you reach out to the SDC to begin the interactive process, the better.
  • UC Davis Library- You can borrow materials, search through numerous physical and digital catalogs, get support for research and writing, and find a place to study by using the UC Davis Library.
  • Parking and Transportation- There are many parking and public transportation options available to you as a UC Davis graduate student. Information about parking at Aggie Square. Information about parking at UC Davis Health. Information about parking at UC Davis.
  • Tuition and Financial Aid- To be considered for funding from the program, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
  • Graduate Student Association (GSA)- GSA is the primary governing body for graduate students. They have funding resources, host social events, and share a weekly newsletter.
  • Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center- Aggie Compass can connect students with financial, food, housing, mental wellness, and other basic needs resources.
  • Explore Identities and Cultures- Looking for community on campus? There are many centers that offer programs, provide resources, and host events that reflect the unique identities and cultures of the UC Davis student body.
  • UC Davis Calendars and Important Dates- Be sure to add important dates listed on the Registrar's Calendars on your own calendar.
  • Technology- You will need to use DUO, myucdavis, OASIS, Canvas, and Schedule Builder to be a successful MDD student.

  • Career CenterThe Career Center offers advising, workshops, recruiting and networking events, resume reviews, and a newsletter specifically for UC Davis graduate students. Advising appointments, event listing, and job postings are available through Handshake. The Career Center also has webpages with resources, including CV and resume samples.
  • GradPathways Institute for Professional Development- The GradPathways Institute (GPI) for Professional Development provides innovative programming based on 8 core competencies. This comprehensive program helps graduate students and postdoctoral scholars succeed in their chosen career paths and at UC Davis. They have assessments and resources for each competency and hosts many events and workshops throughout the year.
  • Navro- A recruiting platform specifically designed for engineering and health science students seeking careers in the medical technology industry. Create a detailed biographical profile that hiring managers can view to match you with relevant career opportunities.
  • MyIDP Science Careers- This platform from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) offers students the tools to explore their career goals. It has exercises for students to assess their skills, interests, and values, and explore common scientific career paths. Students can also create an Individual Development Plan (IDP).
