Clinical Observations with UC Davis Health Departments

Students are assigned a department at UC Davis Health to observe physicians in the OR, clinic, hospital, and other clinical settings to collect first-hand data that the students will turn into clinical needs statements. Students will work with the physicians they observed and other stakeholders to validate these needs and narrow down their findings to their top user needs statements. Students will continue to engage with a clinical mentor in whose specialty area their chosen clinical need falls in the Winter and Spring quarters as the students design, prototype, test, and develop a commercial plan for their product.
