Student Spotlight: Karenna Rehorn

Karenna Rehorn is a junior studying biomedical engineering with an emphasis in cellular and tissue engineering. In the future she hopes to focus on helping individuals with autoimmune disorders. Rehorn is a DJ at the campus radio station, KDVS. Other interests include running, playing the flute, volunteering at the UC Davis farm and cooking.

Dr. Gerard Arino-Estrada Receives NIBIB Trailblazer Grant

Dr. Gerard Arino-Estrada, an assistant project scientist in the Biomedical Engineering department, has been awarded with the Trailblazer R21 Award from the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB). The award is an opportunity for New and Early Stage Investigators to pursue research programs of high interest to the NIBIB that integrate engineering and the physical sciences with the life and behavioral sciences.

Dr. Alyssa Panitch Named STAIR Grant Recipient

Alyssa Panitch, Edward Teller Professor in the Biomedical Engineering department and Executive Associate Dean in the College of Engineering, is one of the latest recipients of the Science Translation and Innovative Research (STAIR) Grant. The STAIR Grant program, managed by Venture Catalyst and funded by the UC Davis Office of Research, provides funding to UC Davis researchers to support translational science and innovative research.
