Kent Leach has been elected to the Americas Council leadership of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS).

He will serve a 3-year term on a body that guides the activities, vision, and mission of the society representing the interests of tissue engineers in the Americas and around the world.

Katherine Ferrara, Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis and Director of the Center for Content Rich Evaluation of Therapeutic Efficacy, was an invited speaker at the IEEE UFFC WIE luncheon and networking event at the International Ultrasonics Symposium in Taipei, Taiwan, on October 24, 2015.

Eduardo A. Silva, an assistant professor in the UC Davis Department of Biomedical Engineering, has received a fully paid invitation to attend the National Academy of Engineering‘s annual Frontiers of Engineering Education Symposium. The event will take place Oct. 25-28 at the National Academies’ Beckman Center in Irvine, Calif.

Dr. Jamal Lewis will join the Biomedical Engineering Department at UC Davis as an Assistant Professor this Fall.

Dr. Lewis received his Ph.D. degree in 2012, and comes to UC Davis following a postdoctoral fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Benjamin Keselowsky in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at University of Florida.

Eduardo Silva was featured in the “Frontiers of Engineering Alumni Spotlight.”

Eduardo Silva has been chosen to present his paper, “Material-controlled homing of stem cells,” at the National Academy of Engineering’s Frontiers of Engineering Symposium.
